STEP Trips for 2026 [Registration Open]

  • Google Calendar ICS

STEP stands for Short-Term Exposure Programme. We step outside our Singapore context to see first-hand what God is doing in and through other churches and ministries. Our goal is to learn, serve, and walk alongside our brothers and sisters who have been faithfully ministering in their local context long before we arrived.

Jesus gave the Great Commission to us all, to make disciples of all nations. In Ephesians, Paul reminds us that leaders are given to equip everyone for ministry so that the whole body grows. That equipping looks different for each of us. Some are called to go, others to send, give or pray for the team while they are away.

Over the years RHC has built relationships with churches across Asia Pacific. We visit, pray, and help where we genuinely can. Paul thanks the Philippians for their partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. That is what we hope to build with every church we visit- a relationship that continues long after the trip ends.

If this stirs something in you, view the trip forms below to find out more about how you can be involved.

Vision Art Campaign: "Our Vision, Through Your Eyes"

Vision Art Campaign: "Our Vision, Through Your Eyes"

We often talk about our vision: to see Asia renewed by people, churches, and cities transformed by the gospel. But what does that actually look like in our ordinary life? We are launching this Vision Art Campaign as a fun, tangible way to express how we experience God and gospel renewal in our everyday lives.

So, come share your photography, painting, poetry, short stories, and music with us! We’ve already had RHCers submit their artwork into our ”Gallery of Grace” and we’d love to see more, especially from our kids and youth. Let’s show the many small and big ways that God is at work in our homes, workplaces, and daily routines. In the conversation in your office pantry, the shared cup of kopi at the local kopitiam, and the intentional ways you love your neighbours and families.

We welcome all creative expressions and mediums, including but not limited to:

  • photography & graphic design,

  • painting, drawing, & sculpture,

  • poetry, prose, prayer & short stories,

  • music & song lyrics

Whether it’s a simple phone snap of your morning commute with a short reflection, an abstract painting of our city, or a poem about finding hope in a hard season, we want to hear your story. (Note: All visual pieces should include a brief caption explaining the heart behind it!)

To tie this with our desire to be a community on mission: one eligible submission will be considered to receive a fully sponsored return flight to join a Short-term Exposure Programme trip in 2027. As God is teaching us to witness His work in our lives here in Singapore, we’d love for us to be able to expand our experience of witnessing how God moves in different ways in other countries, particularly with our STEP partners.

You may submit your art anytime from 9 August until 4 October to missions@rhc.org.sg, or drop off physical pieces at the RHC main office on Sundays (Attn: Gerald, Missions)

Planting Stories: Equipping Planters

Planting Stories: Equipping Planters

In this special session of Planting Stories, we are excited to welcome Aaron Chan, a long-term missionary serving alongside his wife as faculty members at Southeast Asia Bible Seminary (SEABS) in Malang, Indonesia.

While individual church plants represent the frontline of the gospel, theological institutions like SEABS serve as the deep root system that sustains them. Over many years of cross-cultural service, they have had a unique, multi-generational vantage point; watching how God shapes, teaches, and sends out indigenous pastors and church planters across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Come and hear stories of God’s quiet, enduring faithfulness in the classroom and on the mission field. We will explore what it looks like to invest in the long-term health of the global church, the unique joys and trials of training local leaders, and how God continues to raise up workers for His harvest.

Date: Sunday, 2 August 2026
Time: 10.40am-11:20am (In between 1st & 2nd service)
Venue: Furama City Centre, Level 5, Ballroom

Planting Stories is a series that invites us to slow down and hear about how God has been at work in the beginnings of new churches and gospel communities. Behind every church plant lies a journey—moments of uncertainty, steps of faith, seasons of waiting, and countless glimpses of God’s provision and grace.

Through this series, we’ll get to hear firsthand from those who have walked that road: what it was like to begin, walk together in community, the joys and setbacks along the way, what it means to trust Him, and to see His kingdom grow in unexpected ways.

At the same time, these aren’t just stories of the past. They remind us that God is still at work today, growing His kingdom through ordinary people who take Him at His word. As we listen, we’re encouraged to reflect on our own journey of faith, to be strengthened by the testimonies of others, and to imagine how God might use us in the places where we live, work, and serve.

Whether you’re simply curious about church planting, eager to be encouraged by real stories of faith, or wondering how you can play a role in God’s mission, Planting Stories offers a space to connect, be inspired, and to see how even the smallest seeds of faith can grow into something far greater than we imagine.

An Evening with the Chans: Long-Term Missions

An Evening with the Chans: Long-Term Missions

What does it look like to say "yes" to global missions?

After serving in ministry right here in Singapore for a decade, the Lord redirected the Chan family to Malang, Indonesia. Since 2013, Aaron and Sylvia Chan have been living out that calling, serving on the faculty of Southeast Asia Bible Seminary. Rather than planting a single church, their mission has been to deepen the root system of the global church, labouring in the theological and spiritual formation of local Indonesian and overseas Chinese students who are sent out to the frontlines of gospel ministry.

If you have ever felt a nudge toward cross-cultural missions, wondered what it takes to sustain a family on the field long-term, or just simply curious, we invite you to this special weeknight gathering.

Come enjoy a catered dinner, share in warm fellowship, and listen to Aaron and Sylvia share firsthand about:

  • What it looks like to train pastors and leaders in a multicultural and missional context

  • Navigating a decade of transition, cross-cultural living, and raising children in the mission field

  • How a Trinitarian, Christ-centered, and Church-oriented conviction shapes the urgent evangelisation of our neighbouring nations

Whether you are seriously considering global missions, curious about theological education, or looking for a space to ask practical questions about long-term service, this evening is for you. Space is limited due to catering, so please RSVP early.

Date: Thu, 2 July
Time: 7.00pm
Venue: Furama Level 3 Studios
