Our DNA

The kind of church we desire to be:

Vision

What do we long for?

For Asia to be renewed by people, churches, and cities transformed by the gospel.

We believe that the gospel is transforming the world and want to give ourselves to see this happen in Asia.

Mission

Why do we exist?

To make Spirit-filled disciples of Jesus Christ through the gospel.

We give ourselves to the task of making Spirit-filled disciples through the gospel, in the hope that our vision will one day be realised.

Values

What guides us as a church?

• Gospel-centred
• Theological depth
• Experiential faith
• Community on a Mission
• City Renewal

Our Culture

Who are we?

We want our shared attitudes, postures, practices, social and relational dynamics, and the way we do things to be marked by these 6 traits:

1. Grace received is at the heart of the gospel.

We remember that we are sinners saved by grace. The gospel is not about what we do, but about what God has done for us.

2. The gospel transforms hearts.

We are more interested in heart change rather than quick behavioural change. Heart change can only come from the gospel of grace, which leads to a lasting transformation that is both inward and outward.

3. The gospel creates intimacy with Jesus.

An increasing understanding of the gospel will lead to wanting greater intimacy in our personal walk with Jesus. We don’t want to just understand the gospel in our heads, we want to have fellowship with Jesus that springs from a heart that loves him.

4. We are passionate for God and his mission.

Our growth and love for the gospel will lead us to a renewed commitment and passion for God’s mission: to bring the good news to all and to make disciples of Jesus.

5. We value relationships above programmes & efficiency.

Relationships are important because God is relational. Programmes can be helpful, but true and lasting change come about through the context of godly relationships and Christian community. In a world driven by speed, efficiency, and productivity, we choose to do ministry in the most relational way possible—even if it may seem costly or slow.

6. We want our relationships to be marked by unity and Christ’s humility.

We believe that relationships rooted in the gospel of grace will produce both humility and unity. This does not mean that we are devoid of disagreements or conflict. On the contrary, a healthy gospel culture should celebrate differences and diversity. However, we should be quick to self-examine, choose to prefer the other person whenever possible, and refrain from being self-righteous.

Our Ministry Philosophy

How do we think about and design ministries?

Every RHC ministry initiative and effort is based on these 3 foundational elements:

1. Gospel explicitness & applicability

Because the gospel transforms, restores, redeems and renews every area of life, we make it our aim to be explicit about the gospel as we go about our ministries. It’s not assumed, but tied to all we say, and also applied so that we bring it to bear upon our ministries.

2. God’s Word is power

Because the Bible is God’s Word and we are under its powerful authority, we seek in our personal lives to study and meditate upon God’s Word. In our ministries, we actively show all that we do as flowing from God’s Word as our authority.

3. Empowering every member

  • We equip each other for ministry, building up the Body of Christ.

  • We value a relational approach above a programmatic and top- down approach (stages, certifications, arduous processes).

  • We believe that ministry is for all Christians and not just for professional ministry workers.

Meet Our Leaders & Staff

The Bible is clear that godly leadership is important and critical to the health of the church (1 Tim 3:1-15, Titus 1:5). We believe the two leadership offices most clearly recognised by the Bible are the Elder and the Deacon. We also believe the need for the right people as part of our staff team to support our vision and mission. Come and get to know us!
