Equipping to Teach: A conversation with Claire

Claire, 2nd Congre

Claire

Hello, I'm Claire from the Second Congregation. I joined ETT as a participant last year, but because I love it so much, I joined again as a facilitator this year. When I first signed up, I thought, yeah, it would be helpful to read the Bible in a more systematic way. The comprehension, the interpretation, the application of the words. But what I got is way more than that.

I learned to approach the words faithfully because you can't do it without faith. I also learned to read it literally, getting to the bottom of the meaning of the words and seeing Christ in it, and carefully, not just flipping through the pages, and patiently because they are words you are thinking, "Huh? What's it about? Why is it like that?"

Instead of rushing to the study bible or google it or checking out what the pastor would say, I learned to quiet down, meditate and apply the skills I learned from ETT. I got to do it with a group of ladies who love one another and we experienced the joy and the wonders of the words, changing the way we read, seeing God's heart in His words, shaping and guiding us in this journey.

God's word is living and active, full of power. So if you want to grow in your Bible reading skills that you can apply in one-on-one Bible reading, CG facilitating or discipling others, all for the building of the spiritual maturity of the body, then ETT is just right for you.
