Practicing the Way: Sabbath

  • Furama City Centre (map)

The Practicing the Way (PTW) classes are Spiritual disciplines that are designed to show us practical, hands-on ways to follow Jesus, and be transformed by His Spirit. Our faith in Jesus is not just a cognitive pursuit but something that we are called to practice daily, and it is fundamental to our growth in Him.

Sabbath is a practice of setting aside a portion of time to stop from your work and intentionally use that time in rest, delight and worship. It’s a spiritual discipline that shapes our hearts, minds, and bodies to remember who we are and whose we are. It trains us to live the way we were created to live, resting in God’s provision, delighting in His creation, worshiping and enjoying relationship with Him

Over four sessions, we’re going to explore Sabbath in Scripture and in practice, as an embodied picture of the Gospel story. Not just a command to obey, but a gift to receive. We’ll walk through the story of Scripture; Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration and see how Sabbath helps us live in rhythm with God’s eternal story.
