Women’s Retreat: Be Seen. Be Known. Beloved.
This theme was received through prayer. Our speaker, Jemima Ooi, sought the Lord specifically for the women of RHC, and what she received was this: that God is calling us to live from our identity as the beloved of God, and to access the reality of who He is at a deeper level in the everyday fabric of our lives.
To be seen is to rest in the reality that God’s gaze upon us is not a threat, but a grace, and that He who knows us fully loves us completely. Everything hidden is already covered by the blood of Christ.
To be known is to move beyond the surface, to be honest before God and with one another as sisters, and to discover that we are not alone in our struggles or our longings.
To beloved is to receive, not as a feeling, but as a covenant reality, that we are chosen, held in Christ, and sealed by the Spirit.
We desire to see women leave the retreat more settled in who they are in Christ. Not defined by their roles or their performance or their past, but by the sovereign love of God poured out for them in the gospel. We want to see every woman experience God’s presence more deeply in the ordinary moments of life, as we also grow as a community in the spirit of Titus 2—women encouraging women, walking alongside one another, pointing each other to Christ.
