Hebrews 11

Hebrews 11 is known as the hall of faith in scripture, an account that should stir us as we read about the hero’s of old who believed God in the face of great opposition and who’s lives demonstrated that faith. They are commended by God as those who pleased Him, not because of their actions, but by their faith. As Hebrews 11 says, without faith it is impossible to please God, and yet this faith is not merely an intellectual assent but rather a conviction that results in behavior. Faith without works would not be faith at all.

In this series we look at some of the characters in this chapter, exploring their stories to remind ourselves that though our walk of faith may look different to theirs, ultimately it’s still a walk of faith in the same God, and the reward of their faith is the rewards that waits for us as we press on believing God.
