Acts series

The first century is renowned for the incredible spread of Christianity that swept through the nations with an almost unstoppable force. Miracles, radical conversions of skeptics and opponents alike, both rich and poor were brought into the Kingdom of God. Those who tried to end Christianity couldn’t. Christians weren’t intimidated by persecution, torture or death. One ruler said ‘their blood is seed’ meaning that the more Christians were killed, the more Christianity flourished.

The book of Acts is the account of how the gospel transformed the believers lives in enabling Christianity to spread the way that it did. Acts is written by the doctor Luke who was commissioned to write an orderly account of all of the events of the early church. He was in a great position to do so, because he became a physician to the Apostle Paul and accompanied him on some of his journeys.

It is our desire that as we study this book together, God will work the gospel deep in our hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that we would not only get to appreciate what happened in Acts 1 – 28, but that we would see God do similar things in and through us in our day.
