Bible Reading Plans – Let’s do this together!

Pick up a ‘Reading the Bible Together!’ guide from the Welcome Desk, or download a softcopy here.

Then, also pick up either one of these Bible reading plans from the Welcome Desk, or download a softcopy.

    1. The Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan
  • Introductions to the Bible books will be posted on ‘Life at RHC’ according to this plan, and will help to orient you to what you are reading.
  • This plan gives you readings from four separate places in Scripture everyday, for a ‘balanced diet’.
  • If reading all four passages is too difficult for you, you can change the plan to meet your needs – maybe read the gospels (section 1) and the wisdom (section 3) books this year, and the other two sections (sections 2, and 4) next year.
  • You can jump right in at any point during the year. Don’t wait!
  • To prevent the frustration of falling behind, which most of us tend to, there are only 25 readings each month. “Free days” can be used to rest, catch up, or study certain passages in greater detail.
    2. The NewThru90 – A Ninety Day Journey Through the New Testament
  • This is an intensive plan that takes you through the entire New Testament in about 3 months.
  • It is a useful tool for those who have not read large chunks of Scripture in a long time, and want to ‘jump start’ their Bible reading.
  • After 3 months (January to March), you can plunge into month 4 (April) of the Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan, and complete the plan by March the following year.
